Dear Community:

Today, the Gospel presents us with the parable of the workers in the vineyard. Jesus tells us about a landowner who goes out at different times of the day to invite people to work in his vineyard and, at the end of the day, offers everyone the same pay.

When those who had worked since early morning complained, the landowner responded with a question that invites us to look more deeply into the heart of God: “Am I not free to do as I wish with what is mine?” Through this parable, Jesus reminds us that God’s generosity and mercy are not measured according to our human standards.

Hoy el Evangelio nos presenta la parábola de los trabajadores de la viña. Jesús nos muestra a un dueño que sale a distintas horas del día para invitar a personas a trabajar en su viña y, al final, les ofrece a todos la misma paga.

Ante las quejas de quienes trabajaron desde temprano, el dueño responde con una pregunta que nos invita a mirar más profundamente el corazón de Dios: ¿acaso no puedo hacer con lo mío lo que quiero? Con esta parábola, Jesús nos recuerda que la generosidad y la misericordia de Dios no se miden con nuestros criterios humanos.

Join us as we give thanks for the courage, sacrifice, and dedication of the brave men and women who serve and protect our communities.
