Our Bishop, Most Rev. Douglas J. Lucia, is proud to announce that an independent on-site audit determined the Diocese of Syracuse is in compliance with all of the audited articles within the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops’ Charter for the Protection of Children and Young People’s for the audit period of July 1, 2020 through September 30, 2023. The Diocese has been found in compliance with all Charter audits since 2003.

April is National Child Abuse Prevention Month

During National Child Abuse Prevention Month, the Diocese of Syracuse reaffirms its commitment by:

  • Promoting a heightened awareness of the need to be vigilant about providing a safe environment for all within the Church and the world;
  • Reasserts its unwavering commitment to providing ongoing support to sexual abuse victims;
  • Reminding the importance and moral responsibility of all adults to report any allegations of sexual abuse and misconduct to civil authorities; and,
  • Continuing its efforts to implement the most rigorous safeguards to protect our children, young people, and vulnerable adults from abuse.

Spring Adult Catechesis Series

Wednesdays at 6:45pm in the Seton Center during the month of May, immediately following the Wednesday Parish Holy Hour

Doug and Sheila Ambrose will be leading our parish family through a five week series on Bishop Robert Barron’s, “Catholicism.”

You will receive a complimentary copy of the study guide at your first session. Journey Around The World And Deep Into The Catholic Faith... For the first time, in breathtaking and high-definition cinematography, the truth, goodness, and beauty of Catholicism are illustrated in a multimedia experience.     For rising 7th-12th. This week long program is lead by Young adult missionaries who guide the teens to an encounter with Christ by authentically living out the Catholic faith.

The Cyrenian Way: A Young Adult Gathering

Young professionals are invited to go deeper in faith and learn the art of accompaniment. Join us on the first Thursday of each month for food, fellowship, prayer and discussion.

Our Parish Is Getting a New Deacon

Please save the date for Mr. Will Smith’s ordination to the permanent diaconate on Saturday, May 11th at 10:00am at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Syracuse.

This event is free and open to the public. Will recently received his Call to Order from Bishop Lucia, which means that he will become a deacon in service to our diocese and our parish. Please pray for Will as well as his family, as he prepares for sacred ordination to Holy Orders. If you are looking for transportation to the Cathedral for the ordination, please contact the parish office and leave your contact information with the receptionist.

Our parish family will be formally celebrating (soon-to-be Deacon) Will’s ordination with a reception on Sunday, May 19th after the 10:30am Mass.

First Friday Masses

Father Hage is pleased to announce that Father Joe Salerno, our pastor emeritus, has graciously agreed to celebrate First Friday Mass in our parish. Father Hage would like to create regular retreat programming for our parish family and will be instituting this month, “First Fridays with Father Joe!”

Father Joe will celebrate First Friday Mass in the Seton Center Chapel at 8:15am.

Following Mass, the group will move to the DePaul room for a light breakfast where Father Joe will deliver a brief retreat talk for participants. All are welcome!
