Boosterthon

Key dates to remember:

Event Day - 10/27

We kicked off our JAGUAR Boosterthon Fun Run/Dance Fit Program this week and what a great week it has been. Our students and staff are so excited and having a blast.

Our students love the daily challenges and winning even more. This week some classes and students have won challenges. 6th grade and KB won challenges. KB tied up Mrs. Martell to a tree while 6th grade enjoyed duct taping Adtro Andy from the Booster Team to the tree as well. Poor Mrs. Martell and Astro Andy! But don’t worry, there are many challenges ahead and opportunities to win. Stay tuned to the daily emails and text messages.

The weekend is here! We hope you enjoy some much-deserved relaxation this weekend.

Thank you for every share and donation you all have contributed to our fundraiser. If you haven’t registered your student on mybooster.com, it’s easy to do this weekend. Then, consider sharing with extended family and friends. And if you are able to, consider making a donation as well.

If your family does get a donation this weekend, you’ll be a part of the Weekend Challenge which is… any student that earns a pledge of $2 per lap/dance minute (or $60 in flat donations) will earn a top secret, one of a kind, limited edition bonus prize!

Every share and donation adds up to make a big difference for our school. We are a little less than half the way to our goal with over $19,000 raised.

Thank you for supporting our school - we are grateful for our amazing school community!

Yesterday, our Jaguars wore pink shirts to raise awareness for Breast Cancer. Families came together to donate funds to this great cause.

Together we raised $792.00 which will be donated to the American Cancer Society on behalf of OLOL. Thank you for your generosity.

For it is in giving that we receive. -St. Francis of Assisi

This Week at OLOL

PK3 made candy corn and decorated pumpkins.

PK4 learned about the skeletons in our body.

KA students' learning occurs not just through academics but also through play.

KB students are bursting with anticipation as they watch the process of metamorphosis in class.

Father James stopped by 2B to review the Seven Sacraments with the students and prayed for a cure for cancer. They are also having an amazing time with the Boosterthon Team.

3B is so excited about Boosterthon and decorating pumpkins.

4A students took time to pray the Angelus during recess.

4th Grade worked on Lava Lamp activity during science class.

5th graders worked on Shortcuts during journal on Fridays. Each Shortcut is devoted to a single subject, offering mini-lessons on science, geography, animals, food, history, and holidays. They used to print these on Thursdays in the comic section of the Miami Herald.

Middle school students were welcomed by OLOL alumni at the St. Brendan Academic Olympics.

Boosterthon Challenges have been very exciting to say the least.

School Mass

Today 5A students came together to host our school mass. 3rd - 5th Grade students attended mass physically for the first time. What joy it is to hear children's voices rejoicing in the name of Jesus. As always, Father Alberto delivered a beautiful homily.

Thank you to the parents and grandparents who joined us as well as our students and families tuning in.

After each school mass, it is customary for teachers to recognize students for exhibiting Christian Behavior.

Congratulations to the following students for exhibiting Christian Behaviors!
