St. Blaise

St. Blaise was a bishop and martyr who lived during the late 3rd and early 4th centuries. He was born in Sebastea, a city in Armenia (modern-day Sivas, Turkey). As a young man, he was renowned for his piety and kindness, eventually becoming a physician before being chosen to serve as bishop of Sebastea.

St. Blaise is remembered not only as a shepherd of souls but also as a healer. He ministered to the physical and spiritual needs of his people. According to tradition, he retreated to a cave to live as a hermit, dedicating his life to prayer and fasting. During this time, he befriended wild animals, many of whom sought his protection.

San Blas

San Blas fue un obispo y mártir que vivió a finales del siglo III y principios del IV. Nació en Sebastea, una ciudad de Armenia (actual Sivas, Turquía). De joven, fue famoso por su piedad y bondad, y con el tiempo se convirtió en médico antes de ser elegido obispo de Sebastea.

San Blas es recordado no solo como pastor de almas, sino también como sanador. Atendió las necesidades físicas y espirituales de su pueblo. Según la tradición, se retiró a una cueva para vivir como ermitaño, dedicando su vida a la oración y al ayuno. Durante este tiempo, se hizo amigo de animales salvajes, muchos de los cuales buscaron su protección.
