“Grant that in your glory we may sit one at your right and the other at your left…” James and John wanted to be as close to Jesus as possible. There is nothing wrong with that. The problem is that the two brothers understood the glory of Jesus’s Kingdom in a wrong way. They had in mind a political kingdom where they were able to occupy positions of power and prestige. The rest of the apostles became indignant at the brothers because they all wanted the same thing.

“Concede que en tu gloria podamos sentarnos uno a tu derecha y el otro a tu izquierda…” Santiago y Juan querían estar lo más cerca posible de Jesús. No hay nada de malo en ello. El problema es que los dos hermanos entendieron mal la gloria del Reino de Jesús. Tenían en mente un reino político donde pudieran ocupar posiciones de poder y prestigio. Los demás apóstoles se indignaron con los hermanos porque todos aspiraban a lo mismo.

Comenzando el sábado 2 de Noviembre, una novena de Misas se ofrecerá en nuestra iglesia por nuestros difuntos.

Por favor depositar los sobres en la cesta de la colecta. Estos sobres estarán sobre el altar hasta el final de noviembre. Para que conveniencia hay sobres extras a la entrada de la Iglesia o Rectoría.

Please come to the Rectory Office - doors open at 9:00 am - to place your intentions for next year. No reservations can be taken over the phone. Intentions will be taken first come, first served. Thank you.
